The US House of Representatives has passed a measure that seeks to halt President Donald Trump from taking further military action in Iran. The 215-208 vote was successful after four Republicans joined Democrats in a rare public show of disapproval of the war, which began in February. This is the fourth attempt by the House to rein in Trump's war powers, which critics say lack congressional approval. The House resolution still needs approval from the Republican-controlled US Senate. Even if it were successful in the Senate, the measure is unlikely to fully curb military action against Iran. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani jokingly signed an executive order repealing bedtime for kids for the duration of the 2026 NBA Finals, whose games start at 8:30 p.m. EST. "As Mayor, you’re forced to make many difficult decisions," Mamdani wrote on X with images of the fake order. "This was not one of them." This is the first time the New York Knicks will play in the NBA Finals since 1999. Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs will be on Wednesday, June 3.
