The Virgin Islands raised me. Every lesson, every scar, every late night, every prayer… it all led to this moment. To stand here and be recognized by the University of the Virgin Islands as “Doctor Adam O” is something I honestly never imagined for myself growing up. Life took me from the islands, to war, to stages around the world… but no matter where I go, I carry home in my spirit. This honor means more to me than words can explain because it came from my people. The same community that poured love into me before the world even knew my name. Thank you to the University of the Virgin Islands for seeing not just the artist, but the man, the journey, the impact, and the purpose behind it all. I pray this reminds every youth from the Virgin Islands that your dreams are valid. Your story matters. And no matter where you start, greatness can still find your name.
