STATEMENT OF CONDOLENCE The Office of the Presidential Envoy & Ambassador-at-Large has received with profound sadness the news of the passing of His Majesty Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV, the revered leader of the Ngoni people of Zambia. His Majesty was a distinguished traditional leader, a devoted Christian and a respected custodian of the rich cultural heritage and values of the Ngoni people. Throughout his reign, he stood as a symbol of unity, wisdom, peace, and dignity, earning the admiration of many across Zambia and beyond. Zimbabwe was privileged to honor and host His Majesty during his visits, where his warmth, humility, and deep commitment to strengthening the historic bonds between the peoples of Zimbabwe and Zambia were evident to all. His efforts to foster friendship, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding between our nations, particularly among communities connected by shared history and heritage, will remain an enduring legacy. His Majesty’s love for God, his people, and the preservation of traditional values distinguished him as a leader whose influence transcended borders and generations. His counsel, statesmanship, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people earned him immense respect throughout the region. As we mourn this great loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ngoni Royal Establishment, the bereaved family, the people of Eastern Province, the Government and people of Zambia, and all those whose lives were touched by his remarkable leadership. May the Almighty God grant comfort and strength to all who grieve during this difficult time. May His Majesty Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV rest in eternal peace.
