This year, I’ve been meditating a lot on what real authenticity looks like. I’ve had some hard conversations with myself, but it’s all been worth it...I’m falling in love with myself and with life again. There is joy in every moment that I’m only just now beginning to see; even in the depths of my darkest emotions, there is joy. So grateful for the growth and opportunities derived from this year, and can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring. Until then, I’m going to simply breathe and be. ❤️

Creating is my happy place. The act of creating, whether it be music, writing, you name it, makes me feel whole. We are all artists, and we all create and give back to the world in ways that matter, despite how we may feel sometimes. It’s so easy to lose sight of the universal big “why”...so I’m grateful for moments that remind me of what really matters. The world is full of noise and bs that only wishes to bring us down; staying centered and whole can feel downright impossible sometimes. So, lovely IG fam, I urge you to create something today. It doesn’t have to be for anyone’s eyes but yours, if you want. But I can’t think of a better way to fall in love with yourself and with life again. ❤️

3 years ago today I had a heart attack. While the direct cause for my heart attack was outside of my control, the severity of the heart attack was a byproduct of how sick I had become. Recovery was and IS hard. It took Herculean strength to haul myself up and down the stairs when my heart didn’t want to, to take dozens of pills three times a day, to skip out on the “fun” parts of being young to rest and heal. It took prioritizing that every waking moment where I wasn’t resting or working was devoted to my craft, my dream. And it was all worth it. Three years later, I’m happier and healthier than I’ve ever been. I love my life, and I pinch myself daily for how much I’ve gotten to live out my dream. I showed up for myself, and it was worth it. This may all be borrowed time, but it’s worth it. I won’t go down without a fight. Thank you for being with me every step of the way, fam. I am thankful for you. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for myself. So much gratitude this thanksgiving...what are you grateful for? And if you were given a second chance, what would you do with it? .
