Und bei allen anderen würde uns interessieren, ob ihr dieses Klischee auch im Kopf hattet. Rund 90 % der Lehrer:innen arbeiten gerne an ihrer Schule. Sie engagieren sich, doch dieses Engagement hat seinen Preis. Lehrkräfte in Deutschland leisten durchschnittlich drei Überstunden pro Woche – zusätzlich zu einer ohnehin schon hohen Arbeitsbelastung. Die Lärmbelastung, etwa in Pausen und im Sportunterricht, stellt zusätzlich ein Gesundheitsrisiko dar. Deshalb fordert der Deutsche Lehrerverband: Schulen brauchen mehr Personal, um Lehrkräfte zu entlasten und um Ausfälle zu kompensieren. Außerdem braucht es mehr Zeit und Raum für Sozialarbeit und psychologische Betreuung der Schüler:innen. Wie viel Zeit für zusätzliche Aufgaben wie Elterngespräche oder Dokumentation erforderlich ist, ist oft unklar. Der Verband fordert weniger Bürokratie, damit Lehrer sich wieder auf das Unterrichten konzentrieren können.
