Over the past 8 days, I’ve taken you through my career. It was a journey filled with unforgettable moments. From my Eredivisie debut and my first professional goal, to playing in the Champions League, becoming national champion twice and competing in the Gold Cup with Suriname. Moments every young boy dreams of. But football is never only about the highlights. There were also setbacks, injuries, disappointments and tough decisions. Those moments shaped me just as much as the trophies and celebrations did. I’m grateful for my always supporting family, every coach who trusted me, every teammate who fought next to me and every fan who supported me. Football gave me opportunities, friendships and unforgettable memories. Without the people around me, none of this would have been possible. Today, I officially announce my retirement from professional football. A beautiful chapter closes, but new and exciting challenges are already ahead.
