Welcomed General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, back to Singapore today. This is his second visit in two years, reflecting the growing friendship between our nations. Our discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and translating our agreements into concrete outcomes. Both sides will deepen collaboration in areas like agri-trade, renewable energy, science and technology, and human capital development. These are practical areas where Singapore and Vietnam can do more together in an increasingly complex world. Both our countries depend on open trade and a rules-based international order, and share a common interest in a strong and united ASEAN. We will make full use of our respective ASEAN and APEC Chairmanships next year to advance regional cooperation and integration. Singapore and Vietnam have built a strong and trusted partnership.
